Alicia's Google Earth Project

Google Earth was kind of confusing at first. We had to choose a topic about migration (movement). I decided to do this project about places I want to go in Japan. A lot of people sometimes think that Japan and China are the same...but they aren't. Japan is, technology wise, more advanced than China. China makes a lot of their products cheap, so many different countries can use their merchandise. Japan has many large cities and interesting landmarks, like it's many different castles and formations. Japan is a very interesting topic to learn about and that is why I chose it and I'm also a very big fan of Japan.

There were many things that were confusing about this project. At first, I didn't really know what I was going to do. I knew I wanted to do something about Japan, but the exact subject. After struggling to find a subject for about a day, I decided to just look for places I wanted to visit in Japan. At one point, when I was almost done with my project, an alert popped up and it said "Tour Failed," I didn't know what to do. I think that happen because I had a lot of different things opened in Google Earth. So that gave a few problems also, but I managed to get around it. Overall, This was a pretty interesting project.

Features I used in my Project:

  • Image Overlay (Most of the places I have in this project)
  • Polygon tool (On Mount Fuji)
  • Placemarks (All the places I have in my project)
  • Paths
  • Layers

  1. Alicia, I think that you're presentation was creative and something I was interested in learning about. I liked the 3d building of the Tokyo Tower. It was a great way to show the many features of Google Earth. I liked the very detailed summaries of some places. I would've used more paths and stuff if I was you. A good place for that would've been between the Matsumoto and Himeji Castles, because they are similar to each other. Very good job, Alicia. Creative way to tell us about Japan.

  2. Alicia, I thought that your blog was well thought out and nicely put together. I don't think you mist anything that was suppose to be in it. You answered all of the questions, you did was you were suppose to do, and I didn't get lost while reading it. I think you did a great job!
